2017 Arctic Frontiers Conference „WHITE SPACE – BLUE FUTURE”

Arctic Frontiers is an international arena on sustainable development in the Arctic. The conference addresses the management of opportunities and challenges to achieve viable economic growth with societal and environmental sustainability.

The conference takes place the fourth week of January in the Norwegian city of Tromsø, known as the Gateway to the Arctic.


Arctic Frontiers consists of five main pillars:

 Arctic Frontiers Policy

Monday and Tuesday are dedicated to a policy section where the main topics of the conference are presented. This section is simultaneously translated into Russian, English and Norwegian and broadcast live on the internet.

Arctic Frontiers Business

From Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday, Arctic Frontiers Business focuses on sustainable business development in the Arctic.

Arctic Frontiers Science

Wednesday to Friday is dedicated to the science section of the conference. This section is organised by independent science committees.

Arctic Frontiers Arena

For the purpose of sharing knowledge and increasing opportunities for informal dialogue among the conference participants, we facilitate side events and other back to back meetings as a valuable addition to the conference program.

Arctic Frontiers Young provides an innovative platform for engaging and involving young participants with an interest in Arctic issues.
