The Polish Polar Consortium is an agreement between Polish scientific institutions involved in polar research. The Consortium currently consists of 22 scientific institutions: 14 higher education institutions, 7 research institutes, and 1 non-profit organization.
Main objectives
We work towards the integration of polar research in Poland and the effective cooperation of the Polish scientific community focused on polar studies, primarily through:- developing long-term directions for the development of polar research in Poland,
- securing funding for scientific initiatives,
- supporting initiatives that increase the visibility of Polish polar research in the international arena,
- supporting initiatives undertaken by and for the young generation of polar researchers,
- developing best practices for logistics operations,
- strengthening the operations of Polish polar stations,
- information and educational activities.
The Consortium functions in close cooperation with the Committee on Polar Research, Polish Academy of Sciences, which was a mentor of its formation, Centre for Polar Studies and government ministries and departments.
