The subject of co-financing may be initiatives strengthening the research potential and Polish-Norwegian cooperation of people starting the academic career, such as:

• participation in specialized courses held by foreign academic units or research institutions in the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024 (funding up to PLN 20,000).

Only applications with a confirmation from the organizer that the applicant has been accepted for the course will be considered

• research mobility, including field, laboratory or other research activities carried out as part of documented research tasks shared with Norwegian entities, which will take place in the period from July 1 to December 31, 2024 (funding up to PLN 10,000);
• participation in scientific conferences that will take place in the period from July 1 to December 31, 2024, during which the Beneficiary will present the results of research conducted jointly with Norwegian entities (funding up to PLN 5,000).

Expenses eligible for funding include the cost of: travel, lodging, per diems, exams, course and conference fees, and insurance.

The Beneficiaries of the competition may be:

• students studying at the Polish institutions of higher education;
• PhD candidates studying at doctoral schools in Poland.

Priority funding is given to applications submitted by students and PhD candidates of institutions run by the members of the Polish Polar Consortium

By decision of the Competition Commission, no less than half of the funds reserved for this activity in the project will be used to finance activities implemented as part of Polish-Norwegian cooperation..

The call for applications for the competition is conducted on a continuous basis until November 30, 2024, or until the earlier exhaustion of the funds provided for this activity in the project.

Update: The deadline for submitting applications in the competition for funding student and doctoral student mobility under the HarSval project has been extended to December 31, 2024 w. At the same time, the deadline for these activities (in which mobility should be completed) has been extended to January 31, 2025.

Applications should be submitted only in electronic form via e-mail at polarknow@us.edu.pl.

The results of the competition will be reported individually to grant applicants (after the monthly committee meeting) and will be made available on mssd.us.edu.pl, pkpolar.pl and harsval.eu.
