On October 15, 2026, representatives of the Polish Polar Consortium took part in the prestigious Forum on Arctic Cooperation and Security, held in Warsaw by the Embassy of Canada to Poland in collaboration with the North American and Arctic Defence and Security Network (NAADSN) and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) Academic Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement Program.
One of the key highlights of the event was a dedicated session on Poland’s Arctic Policy, as well as a panel discussion focusing on Polish experience, the history of Poland’s presence in the Arctic, and its contemporary role (Perspectives on Poland’s Historic and Contemporary Arctic Policy).
We were proud to have a seat at the table. Academics, researchers, diplomats, members of the armed forces, and private sector representatives exchanged views on the most pressing challenges facing the Arctic today: growing strategic competition, emerging technologies, hybrid threats, and climate change. The discussions underscored the need for even closer cooperation among allies and partners to enhance security, resilience, and stability in the Arctic region.
Representatives: Piotr Rychlik (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Monika Szkarłat (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin), Wojciech Szczerbowicz (University of Wrocław)
