The next edition of the international Arctic Circle Forum conference was held on May 7-8, 2024. This year, the host country was Germany, the venue was Berlin, and the main topic: THE ARCTIC AT CROSSROADS. SCIENCE – CLIMATE – POLICY – EUROPE.
One of the events of the conference was a session submitted and implemented by the Polish Polar Consortium: “International research in the midst of global tensions”. The session was moderated by Monika Szkarłat (UMCS, PKPol) and Volker Rachold (Head of the German Arctic Office, Alfred Wegener Institute).
The session organizers invited:

• Piotr Rakowski (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland)
• Dariusz Ignatiuk (UŚ, PKPol)
• Marie-Anne Coninsx (EGMONT – Royal Institute for International Relations, Belgium; Former EU Ambassador for the Arctic).
Additionally, M. Szkarłat and P. Rakowski were invited to participate in a roundtable discussion on Arctic Science Diplomacy. The debate was organized by the Arctic Circle secretariat.
