On 5 March 2026, a Board meeting of the Polish Polar Consortium took place. This time, we were hosted at the Alfred Jahn Cold Regions Research Centre in Wroclaw. The meeting was opened by the President of the Polish Polar Consortium, Dr. Dariusz Ignatiuk, the Deputy President and host of the meeting, Prof. Mateusz Strzelecki, and the Rector of the University of Wroclaw, Prof. Robert Olkiewicz.
- Dr. Wojciech Szczerbowicz (Institute of International Studies and Security, University of Wrocław) delivered an engaging lecture on the current geopolitical situation of Greenland – a topic that is gaining particular importance in today’s global context.
- Our discussions lasted nearly four hours. We reviewed the initiatives and activities carried out by the Polish Polar Consortium and discussed the key challenges and future plans of our consortium, including active involvement in the International Polar Year (IPY-5, 2032–2033).
We also did not forget about integration, which took place the day before during an informal gathering in a more relaxed atmosphere.
