IASC Network on Arctic Glaciology Workshop

We are pleased to announce that after many years, the IASC Network on Arctic Glaciology (NAG) workshop is returning to Norway. This year’s meeting, dedicated to the dynamics and mass balance of Arctic glaciers and the Greenland ice sheet, will take place from February 8-10, 2027, in Hafjell near Lillehammer.

The workshop’s thematic scope covers a broad spectrum of research on glacier mass changes and dynamics using field observations, remote sensing, and modeling. The program will also feature a special cross-cutting session entitled “From snowflakes to floods: Arctic glacier hydrology and downstream impacts,” focusing, among other topics, on precipitation, glacier melting, the role of water in glacier dynamics, runoff, and glacier floods.

Important Information and Deadlines:

  • 1st November 2026 – Deadline for early-career scientist grant applications (organizers plan to award approximately 5–10 grants).

  • 1st December 2026 – Deadline for registration and abstract submission for oral presentations and posters.
